I know many of you are always on the lookout for fun Saturday activities for the kids to do! This Saturday you will have no trouble at all finding something the whole family is sure to enjoy because the Pendleton Community Library is hosting a Halloween themed magic show at 10 am Saturday morning (Oct.25th). During the show children will be asked to join in on the fun and all children will receive a prize for participating. Halloween refreshments will also be served. After the show is an ideal time to check out everything else that our amazing library has to offer! Hope to see you there!
For all of you moms, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, etc. you know how expensive having a child can be. The diapers and formula alone can wreak havoc on your bank account. Then comes all of the clothing needs, toys, shoes, seats, and strollers. As a mom myself I don’t even want to think about the amount of money I spent on each of these items to only use some of them once or twice. That is what makes Three Little Monkey’s such a wonderful and cost saving store. In addition to their amazing, clean, brand named, and organized selection of clothes ranging from new born all the way up to tween, they have toys both new and used that the kids are sure to love. Their selection of pre-owned strollers, carseats, bouncers, bath-tubs, and more is always changing. They even have a maternity section for those moms-to-be. The best part is as your child outgrows a toy, clothing, or accessory you can set up an appointment to potentially sell the items to them on consignment. There really is no better, more cost effective way to shop for your little ones! Be sure to follow them on Facebook to see new items they receive or specials they may have!

I’m sure by now you have all been to, heard about, or drove through the Summerlake neighborhood at some point or another. But until you live there you can never fully understand the wide range of benefits that come with home ownership in Summerlake. Not only are most of the homes spacious with open floor plans but many of them feature beautiful yards, updated kitchens, and storage space galore. In addition to the homes themselves Summerlake also boasts an ever popular playground, tennis courts, swimming pool, and club house! It is like having a mini resort right here in your own neighborhood. But as many residents will attest, the best part about living in Summerlake are your neighbors and the camaraderie that takes place in the little community. So if you are looking for a welcoming, affordable, and spacious home within the South Madison School Corporation then look no further than Summerlake!

I don’t know about you but I am over the moon thrilled having a store like B’Dazzled in our town. Before now it was hard to find trendy, affordable, clothing and with such selection anywhere nearby. Not only that but Beth (the owner) makes the shopping experience even more enjoyable with her upbeat personality and willingness to help you find the perfect outfit! Plus the boutique carries items in all sizes, including plus sizes and an array of styles from country chic to urban hippie and everything in between. I highly suggest “liking” her facebook page so that you can see all of the upcoming clothing and even “reserve” that dress you just can’t live without. If you haven’t already, stop in and see the amazing clothing, jewelry, accessories, and shoes for yourself!
If you have ever been to Anita’s Kitchen you instantly know why it has become a success. Not only is the food amazing, fresh, and affordable but the atmosphere is so very welcoming. The wait staff is always polite and friendly and you will not find warmer and more genuine owners than Anita and Lennie. Having been open less than a year they have certainly made a name for themselves when it comes to breakfast cuisine. Their pancakes are among the fluffiest, tastiest anywhere and their large portions will ensure that no one leaves hungry. But their deliciousness doesn’t stop at breakfast! They serve a wide variety of lunch entrees and even have specials everyday that you can keep up on by following their facebook page here! One thing you must try is their renowned breaded tenderloin. So next time you are wanting a filling, tasty, and affordable meal don’t forget about this gem that we are lucky to have here in town!
I am convinced that a day of fishing with your kids is one of the best ways to go about making memories, teaching lessons, bonding, and having an unforgettable day all around. Apparently the Pendleton Lions Club also believes that too which is why they are sponsoring a fishing derby on Saturday, August 9th at Falls Park. There will be two age brackets with the first one being ages 5-8 and they will register at 8:00 am sharp and fish from 8:30-9:30. The second age group ranges in ages from 9-12 and will register at 9:00 am and fish from 9:30-10:30. Trophies will be given out for the most fish caught and for the largest fish caught but as most true fishermen can attest, it’s not about the trophies or even catching a fish at all but about just being out there and reconnecting! Just like Herbert Hoover once said, “Fishing is much more than fish. It is the great occasion when we may return to the fine simplicity of our forefathers.”
We hope to see all of you out there!
