Support Our Local Farmers and Artisans!

Part of the fun living in a small town like ours is the tight-knit community we have and the events we are able to enjoy.

Each Saturday, our local farmers markets are abundant with locally grown fruits, vegetables, homemade cookies, pies, crafts, art and more. We can start our Saturday morning with a stroll through the park shaking hands and talking with those who have harvested the food, prepared it and crafted the artistic designs. It takes the notion of “shop local” to the grassroots level.

Pound the Pavement this Weekend!

It’s time for the annual Coach Carey Foundation Pound the Pavement fundraising event! This Saturday, July 20th, runners and walkers, strollers and canines will take to the pavement in Falls Park to raise money for the Coach Carey Foundation Scholarship Fund. An annual scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior runner(s) who has displayed sportsmanship, scholarship and leadership throughout his or her high school career.

The Pound the Pavement event features a 5K Run/Walk and a one-mile Fun Run/Stroller Strut/Dog Walk.

The Health Fair begins at 6:45 a.m. and takes place during the race and after. Medical professionals will be on-hand to administer cholesterol screenings and blood pressure checks.

The race kicks off at 8 a.m. The 5K course is USATF certified and is a blend of pavement wide trails. The one-mile Fun Run course takes place on pavement, so it is stroller-friendly! Bring out the kiddos and dogs for the Stroller Strut and Dog Walk.

In addition to the race, children will enjoy a large bounce house and a 46′ long junior obstacle course! The four-legged family members will even receive a free Pound the Pavement doggie bandana.

Get Your Fourth On!

One of the things I love about being a Realtor is helping people find the homes of their dreams. And, once they do, the fun extends to those families who get to host parties in those homes! The Fourth of July is one of the most celebrated holidays!

In addition to the burgers, brats, watermelon and all the fixings, fireworks are a must-have tradition in celebrating our nation’s Independence Day.
