Have you had a chance to see the new rescue truck that was added to the Pendleton Fire Department last week?
Take a stroll down Broadway when you’re headed to the June Jamboree this week and peek through the windows of the station! This red beauty is known as Rescue 84.
Rescue 84 is a top-of-the-line rescue truck that has been added to the fleet of PFD vehicles. And for those of you curious about the price tag on one of these high-tech machines, this rescue truck weighs in at around $630,000! The town of Pendleton and Fall Creek Township purchased this incredible truck which replaces one that is around 20 years old.
Did you know that when a new vehicle is added to PFD, it is dedicated to someone deserving…or in this instance two deserving people? Rescue 84 has been dedicated to former Chiefs Lee Gardner and Kurt Kahl, who combined, served the Pendleton Fire Department for more than 50 years. In addition, Gardner was just named Chief Emeritus. Kahl was Chief for 19 years.
It’s an exciting time at the Pendleton Fire Department…be sure to stop by to say hello and check out the new Rescue 84!
